Red October

The Q puzzle of the movie ‘Hunt for Red October’ had me sidetracked this week. I’ll keep this short.

The character in the movie called Dr. Ryan fits the character of the person I’ve pointed to as being Vladimir Putin today. I knew him as Cyrus Colbert at Tulane University in New Orleans in 1978. He’s a doctor, had an accident that resulted in a broken leg, Lithuanian roots, spoke Russian at home because they had fled communist violence and lived in America, grew up sailing, very familiar with boats.

Also, the actor in the movie is made up to look like the younger present day President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.  The actor doesn’t come close to portraying the real man’s personality, but he probably never met him.  And of course that’s my Dad playing Sean Connery. How weird though.

The movie’s introduction to Captain Marco Ramius, the hero, has him righteously murdering a Soviet party snitch named Putin. It’s possible that Cyrus took over the  identity of Putin after the submarine was hidden.  I can’t say for sure, but this must be what Q is talking about.

That submarine, the Red October, may be responsible for destroying the missile that was aimed toward the Hawaiian Islands just a few months ago.  I posted a photo, taken by a local fisherman. It looks like a sea drone. Photo was taken  off the western coast of the Big Island, not far from where I live.

To open before him double doors,

so that the gates will not be shut:

I will go before you

and I will make the crooked paths straight.

I will cut the bars of iron

I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places,

that you may know that I, The Lord Yahweh, who called you by your name: yes I have named you, though you have not known me.

I am the Lord and there is no other…
